President’s Message
PAA Members,
It is an honor to serve as your PAA President for the next term and I am totally up for the challenge. I greatly appreciate your support as we move forward into a new chapter in the PAA’s history.
As an organization we have come a long way in the last three years. Your Board of Directors has put in countless hours to shape the vision of the PAA and put into action great opportunities for members. We would not be where we are today without an amazing staff that has sacrificed much to help the vision of the PAA.
Danny Blandford has been a locomotive propelling our organization and works tirelessly on your behalf. Lisa Bell is now at the office helm along with our newest staff addition, Marsha Koeppen. Many of you know and recognize Randy Knight, our new Tournament Director, and Alan Clemons, the Director of Communications.
Times are tough; anglers are struggling and are faced with difficult circumstances and choices. We’ve all experienced the increase in entry fees and expenses, reduced payouts and the loss of sponsorship dollars. We also have witnessed the loss of great anglers and the inability for rookie anglers to become seasoned on the tours. The destiny of our sport and our careers are faced with unprecedented challenges.
I believe the PAA can be our answer and salvation but there is still a lot of work to do, and we need your help and patience. I know we need a good tournament schedule, full fields and a great payout to succeed. I plan to work hard in this direction, but the Board of Directors and staff cannot do this alone.
We need the support from our anglers and members as well as sponsor involvement. I urge you to control your destiny and get involved. This is what will drive the PAA to be successful. This is the angler’s association … this is your association.
In the near future committees will be formed to work on several very important projects. I urge you to make the time to get involved so we can all move forward efficiently and effectively. Considering the current state of affairs, it is time to take control and not let others dictate the future of our sport.
Thanks again for your support of the PAA.
