Ray Scott Hooks Nice Story About His Famed Lakes

[ 1 ] June 18, 2010 |

Ray Scott is known as the founder of the Bass Anglers Sportsman Society along with other accolades earned through the years as one of bass fishing’s greatest ambassadors.

Last year he switched gears a bit and opened his once private lakes to the public – for a fee, of course – along with overnight stays at his beautiful home and President’s Cabin in Pintlala, Ala. That’s south of Montgomery, where B.A.S.S. was headquartered for years until ESPN moved it to Florida.

The cabin and 55-acre President’s Lake are named for President Bush (the Elder), who has visited a few times. Bush, his wife Barbara and their son George – remember him from a few years ago? – were on hand for one of Scott’s “Eagles of Angling” tournaments in the early 1990s to help raise money for the Pintlala Baptist Church.

His new venture with his beautiful and well-managed lakes is chronicled in this Associated Press story picked up by CNN/SI.com.
