Justin Rackley Gaining Attention Among Aggie Faithful
A few notable stories worth checking out …
Football season is heating up — it really never ends, does it? — but Texas A&M pro Justin Rackley earned a notch in the Texas A&M Aggies section of The Bryan-College Station Eagle.
AggieSports.com featured Rackley recently in this story that details some of his achievements and plans. Rackley is sponsored by Texas A&M University and, it’s believed, is the only pro with a deal from a college or university. He sports the maroon-and-white of the Aggies along with his other sponsors, including Dobyns Rods and Lake Fork Tackle, on his jersey, boat and truck.
Rackley competes on the PAA Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series presented by Carrot Stix. He earned a degree in aquatic ecology and conservation in 2008, and also teamed with Trevor Knight to win the 2007 National Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship for A&M in 2007.
Eagles QB loves to fish
A bit further northeast comes a tale about Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb and his love of fishing when he’s not on the gridiron.
Kolb is set to become the starter this year for the Eagles after they traded veteran Donovan McNabb. When he gets the chance, Kolb enjoys fishing and competing in tournaments.
“It’s a different approach, every time you’re on the water,” Kolb told the Philadelphia Daily News in this story. “You have to adjust, you have to figure things out on the run . . . You’re obviously competing with other people, seeing who’s the best.”
