Anglers bundled up Friday morning for a chilly day on Lake Conroe to start the Toyota Texas Bass Classic world championship, with the 50 pros looking for a good start to the tournament.
The field departed Waterpoint Marina in two 25-boat flights, starting at 8 a.m., for the opening round. Fans may attend the free morning launches to chat with anglers before they head out. Weigh-ins, a giant outdoors expo and nightly country music concerts will be held at the Lone Star Convention & Expo Center in Conroe.
