2012 Old Hickory Lake Tournament Info

Bass Pro Shops PAA Tournament Series, Old Hickory Lake, May 7-12

The 2012 Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series presented by Carrot Stix begins on one of the Southeast’s best-known lakes for solid largemouth bass fishing, Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, Tenn.

Old Hickory Lake is no stranger to tournament competition, but this will be the first PAA Tournament Series event on the sprawling central Tennessee impoundment. Located just minutes from Nashville, Hendersonville, Gallatin and several other communities, Old Hickory is popular with weekend and tournament anglers alike. It’s not uncommon for internationally known country music stars to talk about their day on the lake catching bass, crappie or just enjoying the getaway.

After the final day weigh-in May 12, veteran country music star Daryle Singletary will perform a free concert for fans at Bass Pro Shops in Nashville. Singletary is known for his hits “Too Much Fun” and “I Let Her Lie,” among others, during his career spanning almost two decades.

Old Hickory Lake stretches more than 97 miles long and has more than 22,500 acres and 440 miles of shoreline. An impoundment of the Cumberland River, the lake has numerous coves and tributaries along with offshore structure providing great habitat for numerous species of fish. The lake record largemouth bass, weighing 11 pounds, 1 ounce, was caught May 6, 2000, by Bryan Dover.
