A barge struck the Eggers Ferry Bridge over Kentucky Lake late Thursday night, causing the collapse of two sections of the span and shutting down vehicle traffic.
No one was injured or killed in the accident, thankfully. But residents in the area will have a longer commute due to the bridge shutdown, ongoing investigation and long-term rebuilding project.
