Spiderwire pro Bobby Lane of Florida and Gene Larew Baits pro Gerald Brown of Oklahoma claimed Minn Kota/Humminbird Big Bass honors at the Bass Pro Shops PAA Tour Team Challenge on Lake Toho.

The pair each were awarded new Minn Kota Talon shallow water anchors for the honor. The big bass winner in each PAA Tournament Series event receives a Talon.

Lane’s 10.59-pound largemouth was caught on the first day of the tournament, which was held Jan. 26-28 in Kissimmee, Fla., out of Lakefront Park. Lane whacked another double-digit bass, tipping the scale at 10.02 pounds, on Friday.

The biggest one came on a Berkley Havoc Craw Fatty in Okeechobee craw color. Lane was using 65-pound test Spiderwire on an Abu Garcia Revo SX and heavy action Villan rod.

During the week, the two stuck with a few key baits. Brown threw 11-inch Gene Larew El Salto worms and a 3.5-inch saltwater minnow. Lane threw Berkley plastics: 10-inch junebug PowerBait worms, and Havoc Craw Fatty pitch baits, Grass Pig swimbaits and Texas-rigged Bottom Hopper straight-tail worms. They stuck with darker colors in Okeechobee, green pumpkin/red and junebug/red.
