PAA Tournament Series heads to the Arkansas River Sept. 10-15
BENTON, Ky. (Aug. 15, 2012) – The 2012 Bass Pro Shops PAA Tournament Series presented by Carrot Stix wraps up the season on the winding Arkansas River in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
The tour’s top individual honor, the PAA Angler of the Year title, will be determined on a new venue when the PAA Tournament Series heads to the Arkansas River. The legendary river will provide the PAA pros and co-anglers a challenging late summer test of their skills to wrap up the season.
The Arkansas River winds through four states from its headwaters in Colorado and is one of the major tributaries of the Mississippi River. The river stretches 1,469 miles through Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Arkansas.
Currently, Phoenix Boats owner Gary Clouse leads the pack vying for the coveted PAA Angler of the Year title and one of the 15 PAA entries into the 2012 Toyota Texas Bass Classic (http://toyotatexasbassclassic.com/) being held on Lake Conroe, Houston, TX September 28-30, 2012.
PAA awards points based on catching fish and consistency. This year’s points race is one of the best ever with anyone currently in the top 30 capable of grabbing a spot for the Toyota Texas Bass Classic. With Bassmaster Elite Series anglers Greg Hackney, Mark Menendez, Bobby Lane, Fred Roumbanis, Mike McClelland, Matt Reed, John Crews, Greg Vinson, Ish Monore and Steve Kennedy and FLW Tour Majors anglers Gary Yamamoto, Chad Morgenthaler, Mark Rose, 2011 PAA Angler of the Year Todd Auten and the 2010 Toyota Texas Bass Classic Champion Brian Snowden vying for spots, qualifying for this year’s Toyota Texas Bass Classic could certainly come down to the last day and the last fish!
Come meet your fishing heroes on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Bass Pro Shops store from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
Daily weigh-ins will be at the Three Forks Harbor, 5201 Three Forks Road, Fort Gibson, OK at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 13 and Friday, September 14, 2012.
Final day weigh-in will be Saturday, September 15, 2012 at the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma Bass Pro Shops store at 4:30 p.m.
