Tournaments
The Professional Anglers Association is pleased to present the 2010 PAA Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series presented by Carrot Stix, four regular-season events that will test the skills of anglers on challenging lakes.
Additionally, the PAA hosts the annual Corporate Cup to provide networking opportunties and sanctions participation in the Toyota Texas Bass Classic. The TTBC is held in October on Lake Conroe in Texas and brings together 50 of the top professionals from the PAA, Bassmaster Elite Series and FLW Tour for a three-day competition.
The PAA hosts tournaments to provide touring professionals the chance to earn money, promote themselves and their sponsors in televised events, and maintain a full year of competitive fishing and income opportunities. The PAA Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series presented by Carrot Stix features some of the best touring professionals and will continue to grow as a way to promote our sport, our members and our partnerships.
This year’s tournament schedule consists of four events, with the first two days weigh-ins at the lake site and the final day consisting of the Top 30 anglers weighing in at Bass Pro Shops:
July 8-10: Lake Cherokee, Morristown, Tenn. - This 28,780-acre lake on the Holston River was created with the completion of Cherokee Dam in 1941. The lake has largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass.
Aug. 12-14: Lake Norman, Charlotte, NC – Lake Norman is located about 17 miles north of Charlotte, a hub of finance and industry, and has approximately 32,510 acres. It was formed as one of 11 reservoirs on the Catawba River that runs about 220 miles long.
Sept. 9-11: Lake Tawakoni, Garland, Texas – Located east of Garland and northeast of Dallas, the lake serves as a recreational and water supply reservoir. But it’s known for its solid fishing, too, with a 10.2-pounder and 9.9-pounder caught earlier this year. Tawakoni is 37,878 acres in size.
Oct. 1-3: Toyota Texas Bass Classic, Lake Conroe, Conroe, Texas – This three-day tournament features the top 15 anglers in the PAA, Bassmaster Elite Series and FLW Tour standings along with five sponsor exemptions. The event will include a festival of exceptional entertainment and a variety of family and industry activities. Proceeds will benefit the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department. Oct. 14-16: Table Rock Lake, Branson, Mo. – Located in the beautiful Ozark Mountains, scenic and legendary Table Rock Lake sprawls with 750 miles of shoreline and can fluctuate between 43,000 acres to more than 52,300 acres. A familar stop on the tournament circuits. Table Rock will offer a solid venue to cap the PAA’s season.

In addition to our efforts and opportunities, the PAA also seeks to forge partnerships with organizations such as the Toyota Texas Bass Classic and our partners within the fishing industry and elsewhere. The PAA exists to give professional anglers a unified voice to help grow the sport of professional bass fishing, administer educational programs to the average angler to increase his enjoyment of the sport, and to embrace sound conservation practices. Our goal is to continue to develop our PAA competitions to further enhance these goals while strengthening and building our relationships.
