Lake Tawakoni – Event #3
Garland, Texas
9/9/2010 – 9/11/2010
Halfway through the season, the 2010 PAA Bass Pro Shops Tournament Series heads into the final stretch with the third tournament of the year, at Lake Tawakoni. Located near Garland and northeast of Dallas, the lake serves as a recreational and water supply reservoir. But it’s known for its solid fishing, too, and the PAA field will compete for up to $400,000 in cash and prizes. Tawakoni produced a 10.2-pounder and 9.9-pounder earlier this year. Tawakoni is 37,878 acres in size. It is named for a Native American tribe and the word Tawakoni is believed to mean “river bend among red sand hills,” according to the Oklahoma Historical Society. Tawakoni also is known for its outstanding catfishing for giant blues and flatheads.
